Moving data From Goldmine to CRM

I've spent a couple days testing the process of importing data records from Goldmine into MS CRM. I recommend importing the records as Leads to begin with so that they can be converted to Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities in MS CRM as appropriate.

The steps were as follows:

• extracting the whole of the Goldmine database to a CSV file
• examining the output in excel to remove redundant fields
• initial matching of fields Goldmine and MS CRM
• created Salutation, FirstName and Surname fields based on the Goldmine Contact field
• re-exporting to a new CSV file
• import as Leads into CRM
• use the wizard to map the Goldmine fields to the CRM fields

It went quite well!
